Pillar Vase
The Pillar vase steps outside the boundaries of traditional floral vessels, conceived as a towering sculptural statement that explores proportion, gravity, and verticality.
Form & Concept
Carved with a dramatic transition from a broad, grounded base to an incredibly slender, skyward neck, the design redefines how we present botanicals. Rather than holding a bouquet, its micro-aperture is designed to frame a single, delicate stem with absolute focus.
The stark contrast between the wide, sweeping foundation and the near-weightless rise of the column creates an arresting sense of poise and architectural tension, mimicking monumentality in miniature.
Artistry in Wood
The work is a celebration of master craftsmanship, showcasing the delicate precision of handmade design. Skilled artisans meticulously turn solid oak on a lathe, coaxing out the tight, rhythmic grain patterns that wrap seamlessly around the curved surfaces.
The pale, honest warmth of the oak is paired with a highly refined finish, highlighting the seamless, liquid-like transition from the expansive base to the delicate rim at its apex.
A Sculptural Presence
The Pillar vase subverts the purely functional role of a vessel, transitioning effortlessly from utility to art. When empty, it rejects passivity, standing alone as a compelling minimalist sculpture on a mantel, console, or shelf.
The vase is no longer merely an object to hold flowers but a poetic study of balance, negative space, and the enduring strength of hand-worked oak.
